In six hours and 15 minutes I will be checking in to my Saturday morning flight, 24 hours before it departs the Portland airport, with the world famous PDX carpet, and heading southeast to Denver, my first stop on my way to Tulsa, Oklahoma.
I’ve never gone to Oklahoma before and have actually been calling it Oklahome, because I have a feeling it is going to feel a lot like home to me….probably instantly. There will be a couple people there to meet me that are going to make this place feel like somewhere I don’t want to leave, but of course I will leave, once my two and a half weeks of my working vacation comes to a close. I am sure I will be leaving with a heavy heart, but also with a suitcase worth of great memories and many new friends as well.
I’m excited for what the next two and a half weeks will bring. We’ve talked about going to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City and the Flying Tee in Jenks.
I’ve purposely not researched Oklahoma. I thought it would be great to be a little surprised by everything I come across. I have no idea what the city of Tulsa looks like, or Oklahoma City for that matter. I have no idea what their history is all about, but I am ready to start learning all about it the moment I ‘touch down’.
